Team Collett’s four days at Barbury Horse trials.
Thursday 9th July
Headed off very early with, Cooley Again who scored 51.1 in his CIC** dressage, entered in the BYEH 5yo class was Sir Papillion whom sadly didn’t win the judges over on this occasion but he performed brilliantly and Acrobat Du Village finished 6th out of a very large class. So proud of my clever babies.
Friday 10th July
Another early start today with Brawo and Oratorio II for the novice, Mr Bass doing CIC** dressage and Grand Manoeuvre for CIC*** dressage.
Brawo 23.5 scored one of the best dressage tests of the day and finished 11th in his class whilst Oratorio II did a nice test 30.8, was fabulous XC and placed 8th.
Mr Bass scored 46.5 in CIC** & Grand Manoeuvre scored 43.3 in the CIC***, to lie 15th overnight.
Saturday 11th July
So back today for the Cooley Again & Mr Bass in CIC** to SJ & XC & Grand Manoeuvre CIC*** to SJ.
Something very satisfying about producing babies from 4yo’s to both jump double clear rounds in their first CIC** as 7 years old’s – Mr Bass – 6th & Cooley Again – 10th.
Grand Manoeuvre jumped a foot perfect clear in CIC*** SJ. Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s xc!
Riding horses like the 3 I have today, is what makes all the bad times worth it. So proud of my boys.
Sunday 12th July
Grand Manoeuvre was AMAZING xc….He flew round with just 2 time pens to finish 6th in the CIC***. What an incredible week with such talented horses. We also won the “Horse Trials Support Group” Best British Rider 25 and under.
There are so many reasons for feeling lucky today not least that on the 8th July 2013 – I had a fall that could have changed my life. I will be forever grateful to everyone who saved me and got me back doing what I love.
I feel very blessed and appreciate everyone’s support – THANK YOU to each and every one of you.
